This qualification reflects the role of a security officer, responsible for maintaining safety and security by patrolling, protecting and guarding property, and screening entry, monitoring behaviour and removing persons from premises. This will be delivered over 30 weeks of course duration including 25 weeks delivery plus 5 weeks holidays. Students are required to attend a minimum of 20 scheduled supervised contact hours per week and dedicate approximately 7-8 hours per week (a total of 200 self-study hours over the course duration) to unsupervised learning activities.
Face-to-face in a classroom and practical training in a simulated environment for a minimum of 20 hours per week over 25 weeks delivery to achieve knowledge and skills defined in each unit of competency for this qualification.
